Bill was ahead of his time but the group floundered during the punk rock explosion of 1976-77. He was the vocalist, guitarist and songwriter of the British group Be Bop Deluxe for whom big things were predicted by the mid seventies rock press. Bill was a particular favourite of Peel and would appear regularly on his show.
